I’m looking for a part-time SEO Analyst who loves SEO, getting results for small business clients, and has a passion for keyword research. He/she has experience with maintaining relationships with clients in a 100% virtual capacity.

 

This person loves working to solve complex organic search goals for small companies that have very little to no online presence. I am a stickler for deadlines and communication. I love a well-detailed plan but I’m ok to change as needed, because yes, life happens. He/she excels at working independently and can take initiative when needed. 

 

The ideal candidate can hit the ground running and is very comfortable being in a virtual role. He/she has the ability to take initiative when needed if something looks incorrect. 

SEO Analyst (Contractor Role)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Project Management:

  • Set up new projects in Ahrefs and run initial site audits

  • Review and track weekly keyword rankings on Ahrefs and highlight notable changes for each project

  • Review Performance metrics in Google Search Console and Google Analytics to note top-performing keywords and content pages

  • Discovery Sales Calls Preparation:

    • Run website through Ahrefs to look at organic traffic and keywords before discovery sales call and make notes on potential SEO improvements.

  • Attend client onboarding calls to be aware of the project plan and support as needed

 

Keyword Research & Competitor Analysis: 

  • Pull current keyword rankings for client's website from Ahrefs

  • Pull competitor keywords for additional research

  • Identify low hanging fruit keywords with potential for client's website combined with SEO strategy from client onboarding call

  • Outline content plan based on keyword research and present to the client for feedback

  • Submit keywords for tracking once identified and/or added to the website

  • Run content gap analysis for competitors in Ahrefs

  • Export keywords and competitor keywords into Google Docs file and save to client's folder

  • Create client vs. competitor profile that identifies total keywords, organic traffic, backlinks, and domain authority (Agency template provided)

  • Pull top organic pages for the client and their competitors in Ahrefs

On-Page SEO Analysis:

  • Review website pages for On-Page SEO best practices

  • Check for header tags on pages and blog posts

  • Check for accurate meta descriptions on all pages and posts and all products 

  • Review existing blog content to ensure it properly aligns with search intent and website relevancy

  • Review Agency SEO Checklist to make sure nothing is missed before content is approved for publishing

  • Identify opportunities for external linking and anchor text linking (External and internal)

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have previous experience in an SEO Analyst role or independent SEO/Freelancer

  2. Must have experience with Google Products - Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google My Business. Google Data Studio and Tag Manage is a plus but not required.

  3. Ability to manage multiple moving parts and communicate with multiple stakeholders for one project 

  4. US Time Zones required 

  5. Willing to grow with a small company as it scales 

BONUSES:

  • Bonus if the applicant can use Click-Up project management tool but not required.
